Tell me more about RaspTV !

The Raspberry Pi is a credit card size computer that was originally designed to encourage programming and tinkering by students.  The RasPi, as it is affectionately called, is powerful enough to be a home PC that is good enough for surfing the Internet and other computer applications such as educational programs for children.  It is also powerful enough to be a HTMS for great entertainment in your living room.

Each RasPi computer that we give will come with software, keyboard and mouse.  Just hook up the RasPi to the power source and the TV and that's all!  Works well with the Internet too!

Your TV in your living room can be so much more than showing free-to-air TV programmes or showing cables.  Do you know that you can easily watch your digital contents comfortably on your TV in your living room rather than slouching over your computer screen?  Did I mention in High Definition (HD) ?

The RaspTV is a Home Theatre Personal Computer (HTPC) that links your TV to your digital contents, whether they are remotely on your harddisks or on the Internet.   With RaspTV, you can watch your own DVD collections, music, pictures and even youtube videos all on the same TV screen!  It is also highly customisable using a skin system to suit your style!

You might attempt to connect your laptop or PC to your HDTV to do this, but the RaspTV is built to do this!  You can even use your iPad to control your TV after connecting it to the RaspTV.

The RaspTV is based on the XBMC system on a Raspberry Pi Computer.

Can I do RasPi and RaspTV myself ?

Absolutely!  If you are keen to setup a RasPi and RaspTV yourself, you are in for an adventure into the Makers Movement community.  The Open-Source movement has really made this more accessible and coupled with easy hardware, it has never been more fun!  Here are some of the websites to get you started:
